Athenree Hot Springs

On public holiday weekends we may need to restrict access to our hot pools, depending on guests staying on site our pools may need to be exclusively for our park guests, give us a call.

Athenree Holiday Park's hot pools are open every day for our staying guests from 8.30am until 7.30pm at no extra charge. The public are also welcome to use our hot pools from 10:00am until 7:30pm daily.

There are two natural mineral pools at Athenree Hot Springs & Holiday Park. The larger pool is at 33-35C with an average depth of 1.3m and also has a shallow section for toddlers. Our smaller adult relaxing pool (sorry children are not allowed in this pool) is at a temperature of 38.5-40 C. A change room with toilets, showers and heated floors is located within the complex.

The Pool complex has been extensively refurbushed in March 2023 and is now ready for another 25 years.

Where does the water come from?

The pools are fed from an underground aquifer 250 meters deep - mineral water is pumped constantly through the pools and the volumes are replenished every 3-4 hours. Both pools are emptied and cleaned daily.

We have installed a water-to-water heat pump which recovers heat energy from water discharged from the pools and provides additional heat to the incoming geothermal water flowing to the plunge pool - this has meant that we have been able to greatly reduce energy inputs and reduce our CO2 emissions by 32 tonnes each year!

We only ask that children are closely supervised and do not use the adult pool and that swimmers observe some basic rules for the safety and consideration of others. Toddlers (12 months - 3 years) are required to wear swim nappies which are available at the office on arrival. Unfortunately the pools are not suitable for children under 12 months of age.
